Around this time last year, I learned my novels have been mis-appropriated by an overseas book-pirate, upon whose website hundreds of titles are offered for free — unless you make a donation, in which case less free, except I still don’t get paid.
It’s not supposed to happen to unknown authors. Obviously, we’re talking about a thief with a discerning eye. “This guy’s going to be famous,” he’s telling himself. “I’m getting in on the ground floor.”
Not to say I approve. I filed complaints, but Icelanders are notorious for this activity, untouchable by their laws, much less ours. I have no illusions that anything will be done.
At least, not by them; but you can do something. Click here. Show those miscreants that decent people buy books from the author. You’ll soon be telling your friends, “I read his work before he hit the big time.” Which will be true, no matter if I’m successful or not. You can even say it tomorrow if you want. That’s how good this offer is.
Five works of literary Sci-Fi, a sub-genre wherein story prevails overs setting. One novel about an American teenager in 1966 Manila who courts a CIA officer several years his senior. Value-positive stories for thoughtful readers. Young Adult appropriate, although I'll admit the forbidden love angle in Silken Thread is on the boundary. All my titles are #kindleunlimited #kdpselect, although this may soon change.
If you have Prime or a Kindle Unlimited subscription, it might be a good time to get in under the wire. And thanks for reading. Keep doing it. We need you.

So IP piracy is now the sincerest form of flattery? A pox on their houses!

Out of curiosity, I searched on one of my titles and discovered that, among others, Barnes & Noble is listing two of my books! Also, apparently, KDP must have printed extra copies of silken thread and dumped them at wholesale ( in which, I presume, the author doesn’t get paid ), and so the book is showing up in Spain, for instance.

I’d send a maroli to beat them up, but as you well know, those guys are going to be hard to get until sometime after 2026.

I am very sorry for this misadventure, this scam against which there seems to be no possibility of reacting

There is no recourse. On the plus side, maybe someone is reading my books.

Let’s think of it this way, then: it makes us feel better, doesn’t it?
It’s a bit like seeing the glass half full 🤗
